Educational Farm Visits
One way we use our farm as a community resource is to host visiting groups to come explore, tour, and do farm work with us. These visits are mutually beneficial, allowing the visitors a hands on opportunity to get dirty, learn and meet people in their community, while we get to share what we do as farmers, make connections with people and get extra help. The to-do lists of farmers are never completed. These visits are fun and although we cannot always accommodate a group, we encourage group leaders to get in touch with us about a visit. We are especially excited about youth groups.
For example we have hosted the UVM Youth Agriculture Program, Camp Waubanong, home-schoolers, Educational Praxis, and classes from area elementary schools.
